Book Cover Design

As part of a class assignment, this project involved redesigning the cover of a book using Adobe Illustrator. I chose Scythe by Neal Shusterman to create a more modern and visually engaging interpretation. After revisiting the novel’s themes, the design was developed using a limited palette of red, black, and white to achieve strong contrast and visual impact. The typography combines sharp, clean elements with a subtle gothic influence, reflecting the story’s blend of futuristic settings and traditional undertones. The final result presents a cohesive, contemporary cover that captures the essence of the original while appealing to a new audience.
